Welcome to the retrocool website
Retrocool.org.uk is an experimental / open source site put together by me, Geoff Sheridan, a Design and Marketing Consultant based in London, UK. My clients are people who appreciate clear communication, innovative graphics and excellent service. To learn more visit my premonition site. You may contact me at this . This site's layout is achieved using CSS, without any tables. Even the table below is not a table. It's a series of styled <div> layers. Apart from the <embed> tag used to ensure the flash advert plays, this site is valid XHTML. The weirdest thing on this site is the 'Chaos Master', which turns a chaotic equation into a visual display. Just 'cos. The most popular is the aqua button tutorial.
Flash 5 open source code
Preloading System (256k zip) NEW! Dec 2001
![]()
The preload system from premonition.co.uk. Suitable for streaming a number
of large movies one after the other. Loads a certain amount of the movie
and then plays it with a custom navigation skin. See
read me. Note: This system is no longer in use; I have replaced it with
a mix of flash and XHTML which does not require sophisticated preloading.
However it is still a useful aid to anyone attempting to intelligently preload
content.
Aqua buttons (3k zip)
![]()
FLA file containing cusomisable aqua button. See tutorial.
Jukebox (4k zip)
![]()
Loads and plays movies randomly one after the other. Just list the
movies you want it to play on frame 1! See it at work, on this page,
top right!
Speedometer (8k zip) ![]()
Modular Flash 5 movieclip which allows you to speed up and slow
down / reverse whatever movie it's dropped into. Like variable speed
video FF / REV controls which snap back to normal speed play. As
used on certain case studies on premonition.co.uk.
